L'industrie Pizzeria, the slice shop that built its reputation with long lines in Williamsburg, now has a third location in Little Italy, at 197 Grand Street. The original opened in 2017, and a West Village shop followed. Time Out New York reported the Little Italy plan in February, describing it as the company's second Manhattan outpost.

Chef and owner Massimo Laveglia is from Florence. According to Secret NYC, the pizzas use a thin, house-fermented dough and toppings sourced from Italy. The headline item is the burrata slice, and the counter also carries the Fig Jam and Bacon and the Parma and New Yorker. A newer addition is the Early Bird, topped with bacon, sausage, egg and white mozzarella.

The Infatuation, which gave the shop an 8.6, says the blistered crust matches the other two locations. It singles out the margherita for its crunchy, puffy crust and bright, lightly sweet sauce, calls the pepperoni greasy and salty in a good way, and notes a spicy salami slice made with thinly cut imported salami. The reviewer also says the space feels more like a pizza factory than its older siblings, but the line moves quickly. You can watch the pies being made behind the counter. There are no seats, only counter space for standing, and there is a gelato machine plus a pastry case. Secret NYC lists bombolones, olive oil cake, tiramisu and millefeuille among the desserts.

The shop sits next to Ferrara, the 134-year-old Italian bakery, which Secret NYC suggests as a place to pick up a cannoli. Whole pies are reported at $29 for the Tomato up to $47 for the L'industrie, topped with prosciutto di Parma and burrata. The shop stays open until 10pm.

For Japanese visitors, it is a way to try a New York-style standing slice in one of Manhattan's best-known tourist neighborhoods.
