Pizza Studio Tamaki Opens in NYC's East Village, Its First US Location

Pizza Studio Tamaki, the Tokyo pizza restaurant led by pizzaiolo Tsubasa Tamaki, has opened its first location in the United States. It sits at 123 St. Marks Place in the East Village, and the restaurant's own website announces it in both English and Japanese as the brand's first US outpost.

The pitch is what the restaurant calls Tokyo-Neapolitan pizza. Tamaki's pies are made with a proprietary flour blend imported from Japan. The Japanese text on the site describes the dough as the end result of long trial and error, crisp on the outside and chewy within, and pairs it with carefully sourced ingredients.
