East Village, NYC: Good Time Country Buffet Serves a $39.99 Thanksgiving Spread

Good Time Country Buffet, the all-you-can-eat Southern spot at 166 1st Avenue in the East Village, is putting together a Thanksgiving spread on Nov. 26. The price is $39.99 per person, and the holiday dishes are added to the buffet's regular lineup.

The one-day additions include sliced turkey and marshmallow candied yams, two staples of the holiday table. On an ordinary night the buffet already covers a lot of Southern ground: fried chicken, roast chicken, Salisbury steak and wings, plus collard greens, braised cabbage, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, baked beans, dinner rolls and cornbread. Desserts include banana pudding, brownies and apple cobbler, and there is a full build-your-own salad bar.

Reservations open at 6 PM on Nov. 11. A limited number of tables will be held for walk-ins.

For anyone who isn't cooking a turkey at home, or who wants a casual group dinner without ordering course by course, the unlimited format is a practical fit. The restaurant serves daily from 5 PM to 10 PM, and soft drinks are not included in the buffet price.
