Studio Tropical Supper Club begins service on November 13 in Brooklyn. It is run by Stephanie Bonnin, a Colombian chef and artist, out of her chef-led culinary studio at 20 Grand Avenue, near Clinton Hill.

The format is deliberately small. Ten guests sit together at a single communal table, with one seating each Friday and Saturday. It is closer to a dinner party than a conventional restaurant night, with strangers sharing the same courses at the same pace.

The menu is a preset of about seven courses, drawing on Caribbean and Latin American influences. The studio describes itself as rooted in the Colombian Caribbean and built in New York. Dinner is $140 per person, and a wine pairing can be added for $70.

Studio Tropical describes itself as part dining room, part professional kitchen and part creative playground. Beyond the supper club, it hosts cooking experiences, private events, chef collaborations and culinary productions.

Reservations are made through the supper club page on the studio's website. With only ten seats per night, spots are limited, which makes this a good fit for diners who want an intimate, chef-driven evening and an introduction to Colombian Caribbean cooking.
