Howl-O-Ween Dog Parade Rolls Out the Red Carpet in Carroll Gardens

Carroll Gardens is staging the first Howl-O-Ween Dog Red Carpet Parade on Saturday, October 17, from 3 to 5pm at Smith Street and Union Street in Brooklyn. Dogs and their owners are invited to put on Halloween costumes and walk a red carpet, with each dog getting its own moment in the spotlight.

The afternoon is hosted by Freddie Fox & Trixie Rose, a duo billed as half-man, half-woman, who blend classic showmanship with playful energy to keep the crowd laughing and cheering. It is a fast-paced, two-hour neighborhood celebration, so it is easy to drop in and watch.

Walking the carpet is free. The event is organized by MOSS Merchants and Exit9 Gift Emporium. Exit9 is supplying free doggie gift bags for the first 30 sign-ups, while supplies last. Pupstarz, a rescue group, will be on site to talk about dog adoption and help local shelter animals find homes.
