Roebling Rink, the outdoor skating rink in Brooklyn Bridge Park, opens its third season on Saturday, Nov. 14. It sits at Emily Warren Roebling Plaza in DUMBO, directly beneath the Brooklyn Bridge. The ice is real, and skaters get views of the bridge, the Manhattan skyline and the waterfront. The rink is open daily through Jan. 31, 2027, and holiday hours are listed on the rink's calendar.
Opening day brings free admission to the first two sessions, 10:30 AM–12:00 PM and 12:30 PM–2:00 PM, while free tickets last. Holiday movies screen through the day. Brooklyn Bridge Park educators lead craft and learning activities from 11 AM to 4 PM, and the Brooklyn Museum's Museum on Wheels is on site from noon to 4 PM. In the evening, drag queen and figure skating champion Milk performs and skates in the 6:30–8:00 PM session. The New York City Gay Men's Chorus follows with a festive set from 8:00 to 8:30 PM.
Admission is $16 for NYC residents of any of the five boroughs, with skate rental at $8. Non-residents pay $20 and $12. The resident discount applies automatically at checkout. Helmets and Skate Buddies are $5 each, and lockers are $5; free cubbies sit under the benches. Rentals are first come, first served, and sizes aren't guaranteed.
Each ticket covers a 90-minute session block, and you can arrive at any point in it. You then get 60 minutes on the ice from check-in, marked with a wristband. Every guest needs a signed waiver, which is built into online checkout. Tickets are final sale but can be rescheduled up to five hours before the slot, and weather or mechanical closures are rescheduled. Booking ahead online is the safest approach.
Skating lessons, private or group, are offered with Fireworks Skating Academy. Lesson prices include admission, but skates are rented separately. Only water may be brought in. Food, alcohol and pets are not allowed, and bags can't go on the ice. The rink is outdoors on the waterfront, so dress warmly.
