The Standard, High Line is bringing back its outdoor ice rink in the Meatpacking District, opening Monday, November 9 and running through February 28, 2027. It's a winter fixture beside the High Line, with skating on one side and the hotel's cozy, festive offerings on the other.
Access to the rink is first come, first served. General admission is $20 for adults and $15 for children under 12, and skate rentals are $10, so you can show up without gear and head straight onto the ice.
Hours vary by day. The rink is open Monday through Wednesday from 3 to 9pm, Thursday and Friday from 3 to 10pm, and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 10pm. On Sundays, family skate lessons run from noon to 4pm, making that the natural slot for anyone bringing kids.
Off the ice, the hotel is pairing skating with cocoa from La Maison du Chocolat, along with bites and festive sips. The pitch is to make a full day or evening of it rather than a quick lap.
Weekday evenings suit an after-work skate, while weekend openings at noon fit neatly alongside a High Line walk or an afternoon around Chelsea and the Meatpacking District. With a run of nearly four months, the rink covers the whole holiday season and carries on into late winter.
The rink is at 848 Washington Street. The hotel's restaurant, The Standard Grill, shares updates and specials on its Instagram account.
