On Wednesday nights, the food hall at 124 E 14th Street in Union Square turns into a small jazz room. Bourbon & Brass runs every week from 7 to 10pm, pitched at the after-work crowd, friends meeting for a drink, or anyone wanting a midweek date night.
The lineup rotates by week. On the first and third Wednesdays of the month, vocalist Melaner takes the stage with a soulful set. On the second and fourth, Grammy-winning trumpeter Danny Jonokuchi leads. Both are New York performers, and the schedule means regulars can plan around the artist they prefer.
The featured drink is a Bulleit Bourbon Old Fashioned, poured at the Market Bar at a special event price. Food comes from the hall's vendors and local chefs, so you can order dinner, carry it to a table and eat while the band plays.
The venue sits on 14th Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues, a short walk from the Union Square subway station. Signing up through the event page gives you updates but does not hold a table. Seating is first come, first served, so a group that wants to sit together should arrive early. Food and drinks are not included and are bought separately.
All ages are welcome. Anyone buying or drinking alcohol must be 21 or older with valid ID. Photography and video may be recorded during the event and used for promotion.
For a weeknight in Manhattan, it is an easy format: live music, a classic cocktail and a choice of dinners under one roof, with no fixed ticket price listed.
