Nepenthes New York announced a special FW26 release from South2 West8 and artist Ben Miller on October 28. The collection is on sale now, both in the store and online, and puts Miller's fly-cast paintings onto garments.
Miller is based in Montana and makes his work with fly fishing equipment and casting techniques he has refined over many years. He paints with a fly brush that resembles a fly, casting it again and again at a polycarbonate board set up on a riverbank. In effect, the act of fly fishing becomes the painting technique itself.
The results depict natural scenes such as river currents and underwater stones, filtered through his own sensibility. He calls the method "FLY CAST PAINTING."
South2 West8 is the Nepenthes-affiliated label known for outdoor-minded design, with a long connection to fishing and nature, so the pairing with Miller's practice is a natural fit.
In New York, the release is available at Nepenthes New York on West 38th Street, on the west side of Midtown, and through the shop's online store. The brand's links are collected on its Linktree page. It is one for anglers, art lovers, and anyone who likes clothing with a real story behind the print.
