Faena New York, the Chelsea hotel on West 18th Street, is staging a two-night Halloween party in The Living Room on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31, from 8 PM to 2 AM both nights. The hotel's theme this year is Memento Mori, framed as an invitation to celebrate the present and revel in the night while it lasts.
Expect theatrical performances, live music and DJ sets, with costumes encouraged. The hotel describes the evening as one made for dancing, indulgence and a little mischief.
There are two ways in. General admission is $250 and includes a premium open bar. Groups can instead reserve a table with bottle service and a chef's selection of canapés. On October 31 there is also a private VIP package, El Secreto: Afterlife.
For an earlier start, La Boca by Francis Mallmann, the hotel's Argentine restaurant, is suggested as the place to dine before the party, with cocktails and live music at the table.
Guests who want to stay on site can book the A Faena Halloween package. It includes two general admission tickets to the Living Room party, a themed welcome amenity and daily breakfast for two at La Boca, so the room is only an elevator ride from the dance floor. Reservations for each night are made through links on the hotel's event page.
The hotel is at 500 West 18th Street, a short walk from the High Line, making it a self-contained option for a Halloween night out in Chelsea.
