On Friday, October 30, The Stand West, the Chelsea outpost of the comedy club and restaurant, turns into a saloon for "Most Wanted Halloween: A Wild West Costume Ball." The party is presented by FFNY and starts at 9pm at 407 W 15th St, running until 4am.
Scram Jones and GOLDFINGER handle the music. The billing promises hip-hop, R&B, disco, funk "and everything you came to dance to," so expect a broad mix aimed at a packed dance floor.
The dress code follows the theme: come "wanted, dead or alive." Costumes are strongly encouraged, and Western wear counts, so a cowboy hat, boots or a bandana will do if you want an easy look. There are costume prizes, Bandido Tequila, and what the organizers call saloon mischief.
The Stand limits its shows to ages 21 and over, or 16 and up with a guardian. Lineups are subject to change without notice, and guests are asked to check in 30 minutes before showtime. Tickets are sold through the link on the venue's event page.
For anyone looking for a Halloween weekend plan beyond the usual downtown parties, a Western-themed night in Chelsea offers a different take, and the late finish leaves plenty of time to dance.
