The Brooklyn Heights Association's biennial Designer Showhouse is open through Sunday, November 1 at 1 Monroe Place. The venue is a landmarked 1852 Greek Revival mansion in the middle of Brooklyn Heights.

After a multi-year restoration, the 9,525-square-foot house, with its Mansard roof, nine bedrooms, seven baths and a rooftop terrace, serves as the canvas for this year's edition. Nineteen design firms, working in interiors and landscape, have reworked its six floors. The roster mixes established names with rising talent, and the results range from classic bespoke rooms to modern, experimental ones. Among the more unexpected touches are an occult-inspired lobby and a rooftop table-tennis club.

Tickets are $50 and are valid for a single entry at any point during the run. BHA members save $10 per ticket. All proceeds support the Brooklyn Heights Association's work building community, advocating for the neighborhood and preserving its architectural legacy.

The house is open Thursday and Friday from 11am to 7pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm. It is closed Monday through Wednesday, so the final days are this week's Thursday through Sunday. There is no re-entry, and tickets are final sale. Food and drink, smoking and vaping, backpacks and large bags, and non-service animals are not allowed. Guests must be 10 or older, though infants in front carriers are permitted. Volunteers can write to volunteer@thebha.org.

For anyone curious about the neighborhood's historic townhouses, it is a chance to see inside a grand one and view the current work of dozens of designers in a single visit.
