Every Wednesday night since October 14, the food hall on East 14th Street near Union Square has been turning into a small jazz room The lineup rotates by week Vocalist Melaner takes the first and third Wednesdays, bringing a soulful voice to the stage Grammy-winning trumpeter Danny Jonokuchi plays the second and fourth By that count, the next Wednesday, October 28, is a fourth Wednesday, so Jonokuchi is on. The drink to pair with it is a Bulleit Bourbon Old Fashioned, specially priced at the Market Bar Dinner comes from the hall's chefs and vendors, whose counters sit steps from the tables, so you can eat, drink and listen without leaving the room It suits an after-work drink, a catch-up with friends or a midweek date. The Market is at 124 E 14th Street, between 3rd and 4th Avenues, a short walk east of Union Square. A few practical points Signing up gives access to event updates but does not hold a table; seating is first come, first served, so arrive early if your group wants to sit together Food and drinks are not included and are bought separately All ages are welcome, though buying or drinking alcohol requires being 21 or older with valid ID Photo and video may be taken during the event and used for promotion by the organizer. This is a relaxed, drop-in kind of night rather than a ticketed concert: live jazz as the backdrop to a meal in the middle of the week Updates are posted on Instagram at @timeoutmarketunionsquare.
