NY Weekly, Oct 12–18: A Week with a Japanese Accent

Japan runs through this week's calendar. ICP opens a major survey of Japanese women photographers, Hiroshi Sugimoto and Kaori Someya are in their final days in Chelsea and Tribeca, and the Noguchi Museum hosts a two-day ikebana show. The Whitney Biennial closes today, and Open House New York weekend unlocks the Navy Yard. Add two Japan-linked tables and one sneaker drop, and the week plans itself.
