New in DUMBO, NYC: Mike Medium's Monthly Saturday Night DJ Party at Time Out Market

A new monthly late-night party has settled into DUMBO The November edition falls on the 21st and runs from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Behind the decks is Mike Medium, a member of the Heavy Hitters and a name associated with Hot 97, New York's hip-hop radio station Each night he is joined by special guest DJs The organizers describe the evening as a multi-era music experience, meaning the selection is built to get a mixed-age crowd moving rather than sticking to one moment in time. The playlist leans on hip-hop, R&B and reggaeton, with throwback jams mixed in and a few surprises promised as the night goes on Drinks are a feature too: Patrón is supplying specialty cocktails, so there is a bar program built around the event rather than just the usual pours. Because the party sits inside a food hall, it is easy to eat first and stay for the music DUMBO itself, tucked between the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges, makes for a natural pairing with an early-evening waterfront walk before the dance floor fills up. Tickets and registration are handled through Eventbrite For anyone who wants a Saturday night in Brooklyn built around New York radio-DJ taste, this is a recurring date worth putting in the calendar.
