Soho

In 2023, "Happier Grocery," the New York counterpart to the high-end grocery store "EREWHON" in Los Angeles, opened along Canal Street in Soho. The store is spread across two floors: the first floor showcases Happier Grocery's original products, as well as a beautiful display of organic fresh vegetables and premium ingredients. In the back of the store, there is an open kitchen where pizzas, sushi, and other prepared foods are cooked on-site, allowing customers to purchase them fresh. The basement features a range of pantry staples, skincare products, and Happier Grocery's original apparel items.

The store is bustling with fashionable professionals from Soho and trend-sensitive young people from Generation Z. Rather than serving as a convenient neighborhood grocery store, it offers a premium experience that feels a step above the ordinary.

Happier Grocery is operated by Gabriella Khalil, the woman behind the luxurious Cayman Islands hotel "Palm Heights." Known for its iconic yellow umbrellas lining the beach, Palm Heights is a popular five-star hotel frequented by many celebrities. Khalil's projects extend beyond the hotel; she has transformed an entire building on Wall Street into the exclusive "Water Street Associates (WSA)" office building and opened the high-end grocery store "Happier Grocery" in Soho. Though she only moved to New York in 2022 after many years in England, she has quickly become one of the city's most influential women. Happier Grocery, a project that offers a glimpse into Khalil’s world, is a must-visit when in New York.
