Innovative bagel store breathing new life into the New York bagel world

LEON'S BAGELS opened at the end of 2023 along Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg and quickly became a popular store with long lines of customers every day. With a clean white exterior and a simple, yet striking green logo under the eaves, it is hard to believe that this is a bagel store, but the store has a sophisticated appearance. The first store opened in Manhattan's Greenwich Village, and a second store opened soon after in Williamsburg. The name LEON, which is also used in the store name, was inspired by the owner's grandfather, who valued community. The store's theme is "Nothing Fancy," based on the belief that only simple and delicious bagels can unite people, and stylish original goods such as key chains, caps, and tote bags with the words "Nothing Fancy" designed on them are also available for sale.

A famous cake store run by a Japanese patissier tucked away in DUMBO

There is a cake store run by a Japanese patissier in DUMBO, a popular tourist spot in Brooklyn. Located on the first floor of an old building at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge, Burrow is a well-known store among those in the know, and the name "Burrow" means a small cave where foxes and rabbits live. With no signage, one might be tempted to walk past the shop due to its lack of presence, but once inside the building, one can see that the shop is constantly visited by customers, indicating that it is well-liked by the locals. The white interior has a solid impression of cleanliness with no unnecessary decoration, and the showcase next to the cash register is always stocked with freshly made cakes, cookies, and scones. The cookies are available in many varieties and are priced at a pleasant $5 for two. The Mont Blanc is a little expensive at $8, but the meringue base is crispy and the melt-in-your-mouth cream is surprisingly well-balanced and satisfying. The pastries are freshly made every morning, and strawberry shortcake can be purchased in whole portions if you make a reservation in advance. Hours of operation are limited to Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., so be sure to check back when you visit!

A simple coffee stand loved by skaters.

A coffee shop run by Taylor and Rachel. Located right next to Supreme in Williamsburg, the store is crowded on weekends with hip young people carrying Supreme store bags. The coffee menu is very simple, and pastries such as cookies, croissants, and pound cake are available next to the cash register. The home-roasted coffee is delicious, of course, but the most important thing is that Rachel's customer service is very pleasant. Her attitude toward customer service is one of the reasons for the store's popularity. Although the Williamsburg location is the only store, they are actively collaborating with NIKE and VANS and are attracting attention from street brands, so we look forward to their future activities.

SUNDAY In BROOKLYN, A great brunch place to taste pancakes the Brooklyn way!

This famous brunch restaurant is located about a 10-minute walk from the Bedford Ave station, Williamsburg's main train station, on the Riverside side of the city. The restaurant's wood-framed interior is well-lit and open, and the large wood-fired oven in the open kitchen is impressive. The restaurant is always crowded with customers, even on weekdays. The menu, which is a modern arrangement of classic American dishes, is beautiful to look at, and hamburgers, French onion soup, shakshuka, and other dishes are popular. The bread used for the dishes is all baked in a wood-fired oven and is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The most popular item on the menu is the pancake. The pancakes are filled with hazelnut praline sauce, and despite their sweet appearance, they are moderately sweet, giving them a new taste sensation unlike anything you have ever tasted before. The pancake is not fluffy, but rather moist and thick, so even just one pancake is enough to satisfy your taste buds. The staff is also very friendly and helpful, making for a pleasant brunch experience.
